For the past several years Kanoa Zimmerman and I have been working on a book about repurposed surfboards from Oahu and Kauai. I've always loved these funky old address markers and mailboxes and working on this project renewed my appreciation for Hawaii, the surfboards, and the creative people behind them. I had the honor of recreating Margaret Kilgallen's iconic Main Drag painting for her retrospective That's Where the Beauty Is at the Aspen Art Museum. It is the most comprehensive assembly of her work ever and I was lucky to play a small part in it. Also pictured Mike McGee. Installation photo by Tony Prikryl.
